Alliance Defending Freedom is the largest legal organization that focuses on religious freedom, free speech, the sanctity of life, parental rights, and God’s design for marriage and family. While they were started in the nineties by Christian leaders that is not all they represent. For religious freedoms, they support those of any faith including those with none. Freedom of religion means that you have to right to practice and explore faith whether it is in your home or out in public.

Free speech means, have the right to share your thoughts in a non-threatening manner even if you are at a liberal college and your views are conservative. In 1997, ADF launched its Center for Academic Freedom (CAF), which challenges campus speech codes used to stifle students and faculty on campus.

Alliance Defending Freedom won a case where a college stopped a student from passing out copies of the Constitution. You would think of all the places that a college would be all for free-flowing ideas. However, your freedom of speech can be violated anywhere. The college then went as far as to try and change their policy so that they could get away with violating the student’s free speech.

The school even had the police called and had the student who attended the school charged with trespassing. Alliance Defending Freedom fought and stood up for this student and won. They also fight for people’s parental rights. When you hear that you most likely think of a Mom or Dad not being able to see their child after a divorce. While that is one form of parental rights it is not the only one.

In a nutshell, parental rights mean the rights of parents to protect their children’s health and welfare and direct their child’s upbringing. There was a case of this where the school was teaching race Critical Race Theory. This was a violation of parental rights for those who did not want that taught.
