Quincy Jones described Douthit as “one of the most innovative and active producers” he’d ever seen.

Douthit is a social justice activist in addition to his career in television production. He supports Public Counsel, a law company that offers pro bono services to the impoverished, and the Vera Institute of Justice, which works to stop mass imprisonment.

During the pandemic, Douthit’s work ethic and passion for his profession were put under strain when he had to create 120 episodes of Judy Justice in three months. The stringent safety precautions to protect the cast and crew added time and obstacles to the production.
