The feed needed for the animals has to come from somewhere and when entire food chains begin breaking down, the consequences can be disastrous. The biggest threat to the ecosystem right now is our rapidly expanding urban areas. These projects destroy ecosystems by wiping out the plants and animals that are important to the various food chains around the world. As a result, the ecosystems become more unstable and, in some cases, collapse entirely.

They are doing their best to stop urbanization so that the ecosystems of the state can be protected from human development.
