Sudhir Choudhrie is a successful businessperson and philanthropist who experienced some extra challenges throughout his journey. As a child, he was diagnosed with a heart condition. The condition would continue to plague him throughout his life, but it made Choudhrie determined to live his life.
His heart condition may have slowed Choudhrie down, but it did not stop him from becoming an entrepreneur. Sudhir Choudhrie founded his first company in 1975. His company, Magnum International Trading Company Ltd, was one of India’s earliest export companies. It did not stop there. Thanks to proficient networking skills, Choudhrie partnered with Taj Hotels and Adidas. He was also at the forefront of developing a resort chain in India called the Taj Kerala.
Throughout his career, Choudhrie would lend his expertise to struggling companies. Air Deccan, India’s only budget airline, was struggling. Chudhrie’s investment transformed Air Deccan into a major airline in five years.
Throughout his busy life, Choudhrie continued to have health problems. It came to the point where he needed a heart transplant to save his life. Without much time left, a heart became available, and the transplant saved Choudhrie’s life. Choudrie is now the longest-living heart transplant patient.
Choudhire does not take the life-saving transplant for granted. He spends each day determined to give back to others. He works to bring awareness regarding the importance of organ donation. Also, his contributions to the field of cartology have helped scientists and doctors to continue to make strides in research to help prevent heart disease. Sudhir Choudhrie continues to work hard to make a difference in the world.
